The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams has cautioned that Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament must not happen again.

Ghana, who are four-time African champions for the first time in two decades did not qualify for the continent’s most prestigious tournament which is scheduled to be hosted in Morocco later this year having finished at the bottom of its group with three points.

After six matches played, the Black Stars recorded three defeats and three draws.

Reacting to the team’s failure, Mr Adams speaking to Woezor TV said, “Our non-participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) must not happen again.”

With the AFCON hopes dashed, the Black Stars will return to international action next month when they take on Chad and Madagascar in the Matchday five and six games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana after four games played sit 2nd in Group I with nine points.
