Head coach of Sudan, Kwesi Appiah has praised the impact of assistant coaches, Ignatius Osei Fosu and Eric Amponsah. 

Osei Fosu, a former Medeama SC and Dreams FC coach was unveiled together with Appiah after signing a three-year deal with the Sudanese Football Association earlier this year.

Amponsah later joined the technical as goalkeeper’s trainer after Fatau Dauda left his role.

Speaking in an interview, Appiah praised the impact made by his fellow countrymen.

“Ignatius and Eric Amponsah have been helpful to me. Ignatius is also an analyst who helps prepare the team for every game,” the 63-year-old told Asempa FM.

“They are always trying to do their best due to the situation we find ourselves in.

“Osei Fosu, especially always tell the players to do their best and make their fans back home proud so the assistant coaches are doing a fantastic job,” he added.

Kwesi Appiah, together with his technical team has led Sudan to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament which will be hosted in Morocco next year.

They are also on course of qualifying the Falcons of Jediane for the 2026 World Cup.
