West Ham United’s hierarchy has reached out to Mohammed Kudus’ representatives to reassure them that there are no ongoing issues between the player and head coach Julen Lopetegui.

The reassurance follows a reported disagreement between Kudus and Lopetegui after the player was substituted at halftime during the 1-1 draw against Brentford on September 28 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

However, club sources have clarified that the situation was exaggerated and has since been resolved, with everything back to normal at the club’s training ground in Rush Green.

In his post-match press conference, Lopetegui explained that his decision to substitute Kudus was purely tactical.

“It was for tactical reasons,” said the head coach. “The second half we worked as a team, and for me this is a very important step. I highlighted the behaviour in the second half because I think we put on the pitch what we needed.”

Following the match, West Ham’s hierarchy reached out to Kudus’ camp to reiterate that there are no lingering issues between the player and the coaching staff according to The Athletic.

Kudus, who impressed during his debut season under former manager David Moyes, is yet to score this season despite playing eight games.

The 24-year-old remains an important part of the squad and will be eager to break his goal drought when West Ham faces Ipswich Town at the London Stadium this weekend.
