England-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Josh Acheampong was a second-half substitute for Chelsea on Tuesday night when the club hammered Barrow AFC 5-0 in the EFL Cup.

The talented teenager made it into the Blues’ matchday squad for the Round 32 encounter of the Cup competition but missed out on a starting role.

However, his manager Enzo Maresca introduced him into the game to replace Axel Disasi in the 63rd minute.

With the chance to play almost 30 minutes of the Cup match, Josh Acheampong put on a fine display in the Chelsea defense and helped the English Premier League outfit to keep a clean sheet at full time.

The Blues went on a rampage on the night led by Christopher Nkunku in the attack as the forward bagged a sensational hat-trick – Two goals in the first half and a third in the second half.

An own goal by Paul Farman made matters worse for Barrow AFC before a Pedro Neto strike made the win for Chelsea emphatic.

While Ghanaian Josh Acheampong featured for Chelsea in the win, Emile Acquah, another England player of Ghanaian descent was in action for Barrow AFC and endured the painful trip to Stamford Bridge.
