A 31-year-old farmer, Abdul Salam, from Adidaase near Manso Amenfi in the Wassa Amenfi District of the Western Region, has been arrested for the gruesome murder of his six-year-old son.

According to police in Asankragua, the suspect confessed to killing the boy by severing his head and legs, which he later hid in a nearby bush. The child had earlier been declared missing, sparking a community-wide search. However, suspicions arose when initial efforts yielded no results, leading to Abdul Salam’s interrogation.

During questioning, he admitted to committing the act with the intention of using the boy’s body parts for money rituals.

This disturbing incident has left residents in shock, with many questioning who the suspect intended to share his supposed wealth with after taking the life of his own child.
