Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has insisted that the newly formed Management Committee of the Black Stars will push and demand a better result.
Following the dissolution of the Mark Addo-led Management Committee after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, the country’s football governing body has announced a new six-member led committee.
Speaking to Sporty FM in an interview, Asante Twum hinted that after the first meeting, the committee indicated that they will work and demand better results.
“There is a new Management Committee in place led by Dr Randy Abbey and they have decided to bring on board a former captain of the team, Stephen Appiah who is an individual who single-handedly took us to our first World Cup in 2006,” he said.
“They have had their first meeting and I am privy to the details of the meeting and I know that a lot of things will change going forward and I know they will be very much demanding and they will push for results and they have made that clear,” he added.
The newly formed Management Committee include Dr Randy Abbey as the Chairman, Stephen Appiah as the Vice Chairman and also Player Relations.
The rest of the members are Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and an Executive Council member of the GFA, and Moses Armah, President of Medeama Sporting Club. Both Aboabire and Armah will handle operations and matchday activities, ensuring the interests of sponsors, partners, and collaborators are addressed.
Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex 1996, will serve as a member with responsibilities for special duties.
