Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kwesi Nyantakyi beleives that Otto Addo and the Black Stars technical team need psychological assistance.

Addo, 49, has come under serious pressure after failing to guide the senior national team to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament for the first time in two decades.

Despite the calls for his dismissal, Nyantakyi beleives that one of the solutions to help solve Ghana’s recent horrible performance is to hire a psychologist to work on the technical team.

“I think that apart from the players, Otto Addo and the technical team need a psychologist. The day we played against Niger in Accra, Otto Addo stormed the pitch after we scored a consolation goal,” he told Asempa FM.

“I saw that there was a psychological problem there. What triggered him to storm the pitch is a psychological problem,” he added.

Meanwhile, Black Stars will regroup in March later this year for the Matchday five and six games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
