Young Apostles FC have distanced themselves from comments made by club president Samuel Anim Addo regarding allegations against referee Maxwell Hanson and the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The remarks, shared on Anim Addo’s social media account, accused the referee of misconduct, sparking controversy within the football community.

In an official statement, Young Apostles clarified that Anim Addo’s comments do not represent the club’s stance or values.

“We strongly disassociate ourselves from these comments and any sentiments expressed therein,” the statement read.

The club reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining professionalism and fostering respectful relationships with the GFA and its affiliates.

“As a club, we are committed to upholding the values of sportsmanship, integrity, and mutual respect within the football community,” Young Apostles emphasised.

This follows a formal charge against Anim Addo by the GFA for alleged misconduct and bringing the league into disrepute.

Young Apostles have encouraged constructive dialogue and called for support from fans and stakeholders.
