A man, identified as Oboy Siki, is on the run after allegedly killing his girlfriend, Akua Daboa, in Wassa Hemanso, located in the Wassa East District. According to reports, the tragic incident occurred after Oboy Siki accused Akua Daboa of cheating with another man, Kobby, who is currently receiving medical treatment at the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Hospital in Twifo Praso.
The tensions between the couple reportedly began on Sunday evening around 4 p.m., when both Oboy Siki, Akua Daboa, and Kobby were summoned to the Hemanso palace following an altercation where Oboy Siki had allegedly injured Kobby. Nana Yaw Appiah, the Mmrantiehene of Wassa Hemanso, confirmed the incident and mentioned that the matter was being addressed at the palace.
Following the altercation, Nana Adutwi Abam, the chief of Hemanso and Nifahene for the Twifo Traditional Council, instructed the residents to hand over the accused man to the Daboase Police Command. However, authorities are now investigating how Oboy Siki managed to escape from the Wassa Ateiku Police Station before allegedly murdering Akua Daboa at dawn.
Nana Adutwi Abam has called on the police to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the escape and the tragic killing. The community is in shock as the search for Oboy Siki continues.
