Ghana’s Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams, has confirmed that members of the newly constituted Black Stars Management Committee are not receiving any financial compensation for their roles.

The previous committee, led by Mark Addo, was dissolved by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

In its place, a new management team was assembled ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

The new committee is chaired by Dr. Randy Abbey, with former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah serving as Vice Chairman and overseeing player relations.

Matchday activities and operations will be handled by Samuel Aboabire and Moses Armah, while Richard Nsenkyire takes charge of special duties related to the team.

Addressing concerns over potential financial compensation for committee members, Minister Adams made it clear that the government is not paying them.

However, he hinted that a reward could be considered if Ghana qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“Black Stars Management Committee members are not being paid for now, but if we qualify for the World Cup, then the government will make a decision on what they must be given as a reward,” he told Asempa FM.

He further clarified that the only support provided by the government is covering their accommodation and meals.

“The only thing the government took care of is their food and where they would sleep. For now, they are all doing a sacrificial job for the team,” he added.
