
Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama has assured him of his full support as the sector Minister.
Adams, who serves as the Member of Parliament for the people of Buem constituency said this in an interview after he was sworn in as Minister of Sports and Recreation at the Jubilee House on Friday.
In his speech delivered at the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama charged Kofi Adams to revive sports in Ghana and directed him to start by getting issues at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) right.
Speaking to the press, Mr Adams hinted that President Mahama assured him of his unrelenting support as he commences work officially.
“If you observed when I was receiving the scroll, we communicated…he was just telling me what it is that he knows is there-Sports Ministry- and the kind of support that he is going to give me 24/7,” Kofi Adams said.
Kofi Adams has replaced Mustapha Ussif as Sports Minister who served from 2021 to 2024 under the NPP government.
