Black Stars coach Otto Addo is expected to announce his squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Chad and Madagascar this week.

For the first time this year, the four-time African champions will regroup for the Matchday five and six games of the qualifying games later this month after failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Having been criticized for their horrendous performances during the AFCON qualifiers, the Black Stars are determined to change the narrative as they hope to secure fifth qualification for the Mundial, which will be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico next year.

As a result, Otto Addo will also be expected to announce a strong squad for the upcoming games. The squad for the games has already been submitted to the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for questioning.

Meanwhile, the likes of Alidu Seidu, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Abdul Mumin, and Daniel Kofi Kyere, among other players, are expected to miss the games due to various degrees of injuries.

However, Andre Ayew, who has been out of the team since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast, is rumored to be making a return to the team.

Jordan Ayew is expected to lead the team as the captain for the games.

Ghana, who sit 2nd in Group I, will take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, at 19:00 GMT. They will then travel to Morocco for a clash against Madagascar at the Grand Stade d’Al Hoceima on Monday, March 24.
