Amenfi West Municipality, 27 September 2024 – A horrific incident occurred in Yaw Kra-Krom on Friday evening, leaving the community in shock. A man, believed to be in his 33, Donkor, allegedly beheaded his father in a gruesome attack.

According to Tei, Donkor’s brother, the suspect had earlier expressed disturbing sentiments to their father. “He told our father that he was tired of living because the world had been unfair to him and asked our father to chop off his head,” Tei recounted.

The father, alarmed by Donkor’s statement, informed the town elders and requested their assistance in addressing the issue. The elders advised Tei to call Donkor for further discussions.

Tragically, before any intervention could occur, Donkor returned to the family home and brutally murdered his father. Tei and others discovered the horrific scene upon checking on their father.

“We decided to go and check on our father, only to find out that Donkor had beheaded him,” Tei said, visibly shaken.

Police have arrested Donkor and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crime.

Speaking to the widower, she said upon reaching home, she saw her husband’s lifeless body covered in blood. She panicked and ran back to tell Tei(Step son) about the incident.
On realizing that he (Suspect) has been caught by his mother, he later carried the body to another place to behead his father, put in a bag, and hid in the bushes around their house.

He had again gathered some clothes with pepper, spoon, and pomade in another polythene.

Some people from the village trooped the house where the murder happened to search for Donkor, They saw him coming out of his room with blood oozing from his neck. This was done to cover his mischievous act.

The police intervened and sent the corpse to the morgue at Asankragywa while Donkor, the suspect, was sent to Samreboi Samartex hospital for treatment.
