According to reports in the British media, Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy (48) is set to be named the new Leicester City manager imminently.
The Premier League club sacked Steve Cooper over the weekend following a 2-1 loss to Chelsea on Saturday.
With Leicester above the relegation zone, Cooper’s sacking caught some by surprise but it became clear the club may have had their eye on a replacement after an uninspiring return to England’s top tier. They have won just two of 12 matches in the Premier League so far this season.
Van Nistelrooy was most recently employed by Manchester United, first as an assistant coach and then as the interim manager following the departure of Erik ten Hag and before the arrival of new permanent head coach Ruben Amorim.
According to The Telegraph, the former Premier League striker is close to being appointed by the Foxes as Cooper’s permanent replacement.

Leicester next face Brentford on the 30th of November.
