The lawyers of referee Maxwell Hanson have written to Young Apostles president Samuel Anim Addo, requesting him to retract and apologize for alleged defamation.

The former Ghana Football Association Executive Council member recently posted on his Twitter account, claiming that Hanson is being used by the GFA to manipulate matches.

This allegation followed a controversial match between Accra Lions and Dreams FC, which was officiated by Hanson. Addo supported Lions’ claims of biased officiating, further alleging that Hanson had previously cheated Young Apostles in a match and, upon complaint, threatened them with relegation.

In a statement issued by his lawyers, Hanson has demanded that Addo apologize and retract his post.
