Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum has heaped praise on the three youth team players who featured in their 2-0 MTN FA Cup win over Acceler8z FC on Sunday.
Promising star Vitus Avoka was named in the starting line-up for his First Team debut at the Baba Yara Stadium.
In the second half, the boss introduced Jordan Amissah and Solomon Sah who have been inspiring for the club’s Osei Tutu II Youth Team.
Ogum was impressed with the output of the trio and has promised to give them more opportunities in the season.
”With respect to the young guys, the youth team players, I think it was a good platform for them to showcase what they are capable of doing. They did well, I’m sure, as we give them similar or same opportunities to exhibit what they have in them, to boost their confidence, to boost their determination to work harder in training and get more playing time when such opportunities come,” said the Head Coach.
”So as a technical staff, I think we are, we are happy with the youth players, what they played, and then we are also happy with the team, the way the team played. I’m sure maybe people wanted to see an avalanche of goals but with such games sometimes it doesn’t happen that way. The most important thing is that we have won and we are moving to the next stage of the competition.’’
