Minister-designate for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams has expressed dissatisfaction with Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

For the first time in two decades, the senior national team failed to qualify to compete at Africa’s most prestigious tournament which is scheduled to be hosted in Morocco later this year.

Ghana finished at the bottom of Group F with three points after six games during the qualifiers.

Speaking after the team’s failure to qualify for the tournament, the Member of Parliament for the people of Buem constituency said it does not speak well of the four-time African champions.

“It doesn’t speak well that the African continent will meet for a football competition and Ghana isn’t there,” he told Sporty FM.

After failing to qualify for the AFCON tournament, the Black Stars will now turn their attention to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers which resume in March later this year.

The Black Stars will take on Chad and Madagascar in the Matchday five and six games.
