Ghana winger, Joseph Paintsil is likely to miss next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after suffering a quad injury.

The 26-year-old is expected to be sidelined for approximately eight weeks, raising concerns about his availability for the Black Stars’ crucial fixtures.

Paintsil enjoyed an impressive debut season in Major League Soccer (MLS), playing a key role in LA Galaxy’s success.

However, his injury is a setback for both club and country, as Ghana prepares to face Chad and Madagascar in their bid to top their qualification group.

His absence also adds to LA Galaxy’s injury woes, with midfielder Riqui Puig already ruled out due to an ACL injury sustained late last season.

The new MLS season kicks off on February 23, with LA Galaxy set to open their campaign against San Diego.
