{"id":4008,"date":"2024-08-29T02:17:09","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T02:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbmediaonline.com\/?p=4008"},"modified":"2024-08-29T02:17:09","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T02:17:09","slug":"asamoah-gyan-reacts-to-claim-by-english-coach-that-hes-the-most-flashiest-player-he-coached","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbmediaonline.com\/?p=4008","title":{"rendered":"Asamoah Gyan reacts to claim by English coach that he&#8217;s the most flashiest player he coached"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/uwordpressmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/uwordpressmedia01\/2024\/08\/74837939.295.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4009\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Former Sunderland striker\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/people\/person.php?ID=2680\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asamoah Gyan<\/a>\u00a0has responded to a claim by English coach Steve Bruce that among the players he managed in his coaching career, the Ghanaian was the flashiest.<br><br>Steve Bruce coached\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/people\/person.php?ID=2680\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asamoah Gyan<\/a>\u00a0at Sunderland when the Ghanaian footballer spent half a season with the English club in the 2010\/2011 season.<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/people\/person.php?ID=2680\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asamoah Gyan<\/a>\u00a0certainly left an impression on Steve Bruce with his fashion sense, and the English coach believes that he is the flashiest player he has ever coached.<br><br>\u201cWithout question, we had a kid called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/people\/person.php?ID=2680\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asamoah Gyan<\/a>\u00a0who we signed at Sunderland,\u201d he said in a TikTok Q&amp;A challenge.<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/people\/person.php?ID=2680\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asamoah Gyan<\/a>\u00a0took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to the claim by Steve Bruce, stating, \u201cIf you know, you know.\u201d<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/people\/person.php?ID=2680\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asamoah Gyan<\/a>\u00a0joined Sunderland in the summer of 2010, signing a four-year deal with the club.<br><br>However, barely a year into his contract,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/people\/person.php?ID=2680\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asamoah Gyan<\/a>\u00a0secured a loan move to United Arab Emirates side Al-Ain. The deal was subsequently made permanent with Gyan joining the UAE club.<br><br>At the time, it was believed that Gyan forced his way out of Sunderland, but he explained later that he was forced out of the club.<br><br>\u201cWhen the offer came, it was just a loan deal, and they felt they needed that money so they made me go, and in the contract, it was stated that when the player decides to stay after the loan deal, they will offer a four-year permanent deal,\u201d he told Pure FM in Kumasi.<br><br>\u201cSunderland thought I would go and come back because they needed the money at that time. However, when I went there, I was top scorer and my football improved. So I assessed myself, something that would make me happy, and I fell in love with the place, so I decided to sign the extension.<br><br>\u201cBut when the deal actually came, I didn\u2019t want to leave because I was the marksman and Darren Bent had left for Aston Villa, and I was the top man, scoring goals and the fans loved me.
