An Adentan Circuit Court in Accra has sentenced a 25-year-old launderer to 18 months in prison for stabbing Tetteh Adzidoboh, a tailor in the neck with a broken bottle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayisha Attoman [accused] claimed that Adzidoboh beat her son while they were playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attoman, however, got offended by the complainant\u2019s action and engaged him in a fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was charged with causing harm and pleaded guilty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court presided over by Sedinam Awo Kwadam, sentenced Attoman on her own plea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In imposing the sentence, the court recognised the gravity of the injury she caused the complainant but determined that she was a first-time offender, and she pleaded guilty to the charge on her appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court ruled that Attoman\u2019s one-and-a-half-year-old child be placed in the custody of her relatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It further ordered the Department of Social Welfare to furnish the court with a written report on the challenges concerning Attoman\u2019s son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Anim Darko, stated that the complainant, Tetteh Adzidoboh, is a tailor from \u201cAbenwoha\u201d Adenta. Attoman also lives in the same area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 19, 2024, around 1000 hours, Adzidoboh went to a drinking bar in Abenwoha to wait for an associate who had sewed his clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the prosecution, Attoman arrived at the same bar with her one-and-a-half-year-old son and purchased a drink for Adzidoboh since they were friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It said that after some time, Adzidoboh began playing with Attoman\u2019s son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prosecution said Attoman became enraged and attacked Adzidoboh for beating her child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court heard that witnesses on the scene intervened and separated Attoman and Adzidoboh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adzidoboh was escorted out of the bar, while Attoman was asked to stay until tempers cooled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prosecution said Attoman stepped out of the bar and engaged Adzidoboh in a fierce fight, stabbing him in the neck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adzidoboh sustained injuries and was sent to the hospital for treatment. During the interrogation, Attoman admitted to the offence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
