\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A recently leaked memo sheds new light on the ongoing controversy surrounding the disbursement of funds to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), contradicting earlier statements made by the Corporation\u2019s Director-General, Professor Amin Alhassan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The memo, dated February 28, 2024, and signed by Prof. Alhassan, outlines how the state broadcaster planned to allocate funds intended for the coverage of the 13th African Games, for which GBC was appointed the Official Broadcaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the memo, GBC requested approval for contracts and invoices totaling \u20ac2,113,534.00 and $1,290,000.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among these amounts, $105,000.00 was earmarked for GBC\u2019s 24-hour African Games Channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The memo lists Public Accounts Committee as the amount paid to GBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it\u2019s important to note that the memo was a request from GBC and does not necessarily indicate the actual release of
