{"id":2974,"date":"2024-08-20T19:13:30","date_gmt":"2024-08-20T19:13:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbmediaonline.com\/?p=2974"},"modified":"2024-08-20T19:13:31","modified_gmt":"2024-08-20T19:13:31","slug":"kwasi-asante-gets-new-role-as-director-of-passports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbmediaonline.com\/?p=2974","title":{"rendered":"Kwasi Asante gets new role as Director of Passports&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"552\" src=\"https:\/\/uwordpressmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/uwordpressmedia01\/2024\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-08-20-at-09.01.14-1-696x552-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2975\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uwordpressmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/uwordpressmedia01\/2024\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-08-20-at-09.01.14-1-696x552-1.jpeg 696w, https:\/\/uwordpressmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/uwordpressmedia01\/2024\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-08-20-at-09.01.14-1-696x552-1-300x238.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, has re-assigned Kwasi Asante as the Director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/?s=passport\">Passports.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accra-based Asaase Radio reported the appointment took effect on Monday, August 19, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the appointment, Mr Asante was the Charg\u0117 D\u2019affaires at Ghana\u2019s Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a position he has held since May 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also served as the Deputy Ambassador\/DPR from June 2021 to August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has decided that you should be re-assigned to the Passport Office as the Director of Passports with effect from Monday, 19th August, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou are, therefore, requested to take steps to undergo the required handing over process to enable you assume duty,\u201d the letter reportedly from the Ministry read in parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In line with his new appointment, Mr Asante will over the management and administration of the passport issuance process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He will also work closely with government agencies, including the immigration and national security to ensure compliance with international passport standards and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before working in Addis Ababa, Mr Asante served as the Director of Operations at the Passport Office from April 2020 to June 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has also served at the ECOWAS Commission Executive Assistant from June 2018 to April 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, has re-assigned Kwasi Asante as the Director of Passports.
