Assibi Jacob Apandago, a young man from Zebilla, in the Upper East Region, has reportedly butchered his wife and months old baby at Ashaiman, alleging that he is not the biological father of the baby.
Jacob, who was married to Adisa, the deceased, accused his wife of infidelity.
A post shared on X by EDHUB on September 8, 2024, reported that the father of four children, including the deceased, repeatedly threatened the life of his wife till he eventually carried out the fatal action.
The report further stated that residents became aware of the crime hours later when Jacob had fled the crime scene.
He reportedly fled to his family house at Zebilla, where he attempted to commit suicide but was, however, saved and is currently on admission at the Zebilla District hospital.
“A man yesterday butchered his wife and their months old baby at Ashaiman. He allegedly claimed he is not the biological father of the child, accusing the wife of cheating on him. Reports indicates the man threatened to end his wife’s life for some time over these same accusations until he finally did it yesterday.
“The suspect has been identified as Assibi Jacob Apandago, a father of four children (including the deceased). Jacob is said to have fled the scene several hours after allegedly committing the heinous crime, before residents discovered the situation.
According to contacts made by EDHUB with a source in Zebiilla, the suspect’s hometown, it was disclosed that he returned to his family house in Zebilla and attempted suicide, but he was saved and is currently at the Zebilla District hospital,” the report stated.
