Renowned football administrator, Harry Zakour believes Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko deserve to have an automatic slot on the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The two biggest clubs in the country in a joint statement are demanding an automatic slot on the Executive Council as part of their demands following the killing of Nana Pooley at the Nana Kronmansah Park in Nsoatre.

Despite the unlikelihood of the country’s football governing granting their request, Mr Zakour who led Hearts of Oak to win several laurels as Chief Executive Officer of the club

“Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak should be a slot on the Executive Council because these are the biggest clubs in the country,” he told Asempa FM.

“I know there are new clubs, but they should be on there to help make decisions to help the other clubs,” he added.

Other requests made by these two clubs include Autonomous League Management, Stadium Standards, Increased TV Rights Revenue and Enhanced Security Measures.

As part of the measures to curb the act of hooliganism, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has introduced stricter security protocols.

These include appointing Club Safety and Security Officers and installing CCTV cameras at venues. Clubs that fail to comply will face penalties, including a GH20,000 fine and potential venue bans.
