Management Committee Chairman of the Black Stars, Dr Randy Abbey, has confirmed that the senior national team will be involved in a four-nation international tournament in June later this year.

The Black Stars after a torrid 2024 made a good start to 2025 with back-to-back wins against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

The wins have propelled Ghana to the top of Group I with 15 points.

The next time the team gets into competitive action, according to the FIFA calendar, is in September.

However, Dr Abbey revealed the team could be involved in friendlies in June.

According to him, this will be a good opportunity for the technical team to continue rebuilding with the players.

“Fortunately, the technical team and management will have the opportunity to further work on the team because, in June, we don’t have qualifiers, so we will be playing a four-nation friendly in England. And I am sure that it will be an opportunity for the coaches to do some further work on the team,” he told 3Sports.

“We are hoping that some of the players who are injured will also be back and will be able to get an opportunity to play at least two games before the September matches,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will take on Chad and Mali in the round of the qualifiers.
