Ghana coach, Otto Addo beleives playing Madagascar on a neutral ground gives his side an advantage.
In the Matchday six games of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, the Black Stars will be hosted by the Barea at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium in Morocco. Kick-off for the much-anticipated game is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
While acknowledging the advantage that comes with playing at a neutral site, Addo was quick to point out that such circumstances set up psychological traps Ghana should look to avoid.
“Should be [an advantage for us]. Actually yes [it’s an advantage for us] because it’s always not that easy if you play away [from home] and there are a lot of spectators but sometimes it’s also a trap, psychologically,” the 49-year-old told Ghana FA media
“Sometimes if you think [that] it’s not going to be a hot atmosphere, it’s kind of a trap and you give maybe one or two per cent less and for me…we have to be on our toes,” he added.
Ghana after beating Chad 5-0 last week at the Accra Sports Stadium will be hoping to continue their run against the Malagasy side as they hope to push to secure a fifth berth to play at the Mundial next year in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
