Owner and bankroller of Young Apostles, Samuel Anim Addo has revealed that he has been threatened that his team will be relegated for criticizing referee Maxwell Hanson.

In a social media post, Anim Addo described Hanson as a “man for dirty works” following Accra Lions’ complaints over his officiating in their 1-0 defeat against Dreams FC in the Matchday 16 games at the Tuba Astro Turf.

After the game, Accra Lions in a statement expressed their frustrations insisting that they were robbed and demanded reforms.

However, in a response, Dreams FC defended Hanson, stating that poor officiating is something every club has experienced at some point.

Anim Addo, who is a former Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) slammed Maxwell Hanson and criticized the country’s football governing body for their silence on poor officiating.

“Maxwell Hanson is their man for ‘dirty works,’” Anim Addo wrote. “I sounded the alarm bells months ago but I was vehemently challenged with every attempt to ‘shush’ me by the leadership of Ghana Football… His disgraceful conduct undermines the league’s quality.”

Anim Addo further alleged that he had been threatened with relegation for speaking out, stating, “I have been threatened many times already that this GFA administration will ensure foul means to relegate my club, Young Apostles. But, I want to sound caution to them, that, it is not the worst they can do to me and my continuous investment and commitment to Ghana football.”

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to respond to the claims made by Accra Lions.
