
The Ghana Football Association has been hit with another pitch invasion expense after a fan committed the unpleasant act during the Black Stars’ game against Chad in Accra last Friday.
The unfortunate activity has been prevalent with fans of the Black Stars any time the team plays in the country.
The federation has paid $30,000 in expenses due to fans invading the pitch during a Black Stars games.
The FA paid $20,000 for the incident which happened at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi during the game between the Black Stars and the Central African Republic.
There was another incident at the Cape Coast stadium where the Ghana FA paid $10,000.
During the game between Ghana and Chad, Mohammed Huzeinu, a 21-year-old fan was arrested for invading the pitch and will face a sentence of 100 days in prison.
His actions disrupted the game, an offense that has potential financial consequences for the Association (GFA), as the Association is likely to be fined whenever such incidents occur.
The punishment to Huzeinu is expected to serve as a deterrent to fans planning of such acts.
