The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has summoned the leadership of supporters’ groups from Ghana Premier League clubs to an emergency meeting on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11 a.m.

This follows the violent clashes that marred the match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko in Nsoatre over the weekend, leading to the tragic death of a popular Kotoko fan.

In response, the GFA has suspended the league and taken additional measures to address the situation.

The meeting will focus on strategies to prevent stadium violence, promote responsible fan behaviour, resolve conflicts, and strengthen collaboration with security personnel.

Given the critical role of supporters’ groups in shaping fan conduct, the GFA is engaging their leadership to help foster a safer football atmosphere.

The association expects full participation, emphasizing the urgency of restoring safety and ensuring a more secure and enjoyable football experience in Ghana.
