Ghana international Alexander Djiku has expressed his displeasure following Fenerbahce’s stalemate against FC Twente in the Europa League.

The Black Stars tough-tackling defender started and lasted the entire duration for the Turkish giants as they held FC Twente to a draw on Thursday night.

Djiku was a standout performer in the much-anticipated game that ended in a 1-1 draw at the De Grolsch Veste in Holland.

FC Twente broke the deadlock through Michel Vlap after 29 minutes into the game and went to the halftime break with the advantage.

The visitors showed resilience and determination, grabbing the needed equalizer in the 7st minute mark through Dusan Tadic after he was set up by Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat.

“Not the result we’d hoped for, but we showed that we never give up. Thanks to the fans for your unconditional support” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Djiku has established himself as key member of the Fenerbahce’s squad since joining the club after leaving Strasbourg.

He is expected to return to the Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.

The tough-tackling defender missed the previous two games due to an injury setback. Having recovered and showcased glimpses of good performances for Fenerbahce, he is expected to earn a call up for the doubleheader.
